DXF drawing is coming in empty/blank

There are many reasons for a file to come out at zero length. In this article we will discuss some of the reasons.

Layers

One of the most common reasons that causes a drawing to be loaded empty is incorrect layer naming. 

Things to check:

  • Are my shapes on the correct layers?
     Commonly [Front, Back, Top, Bottom] or [Top, Bottom, Left, Right]
  • Is there a mix-match of these naming conventions?
     Check if there are names like Front and Back, combined with names like Top, Bottom, Left or Right?

Am I loading the correct file?

Double check if your drafting program is saving to the same folder or file as what ProfileShop is attempting to load.
