Bevelling a flange length ways

The same with adding a normal bevel there are two types of bevels, an inwards bevel and an outwards bevel. We use the same negative and positive value smart leader and in the previous tutorial.

(We are using values of 45 degrees in these examples, use whatever values you require keeping in mind the machine will cut to 47 degrees but it is recommended not to exceed 45 degrees)

Run a line from end to end or where your required start and endpoint for the bevel is keeping a gap between the line and the outer profile of the flange face, see below.

For outwards bevels, we use a value of positive 45 with this smart leader.

See the calculation of how far away to position the bevel line from the top edge.

For inwards bevels, we use a value of negative 45 with this smart leader.

With an inwards bevel use a 4/5mm gap from the top edge.
